Use block long edge to swipe along surface of virtually any fabric. Collects the hair, deposits loose hair onto floor, any hair stuck to the block is no issue, simply shake the block to allow the collected hair to fall off for easy vacuuming from there.
Doesn't remove stains, but does remove hair, once hair is removed, stain removal is much easier.
